I was good with it until the end, then pretty disappointed. Great, same ending as all the other Blair Witch stories. And super-pissed that there was a season 2. I thought this would be a good one-off game. I was hoping for something completely different for the next Horror mystery. It just wasn't engaging enough to interest me in season 2.
In the video game tie in, Blair Witch Volume 1 - Rustin Parr, which takes place in the 40s, there is a segment wherein Heather, camera in hand, runs down the stairs screaming, only to disappear. Lastly, allow me to explain how this will all come together in the upcoming film. io9’s review practically gives it away:
The creature with the elongated limbs is not the Witch, but Elly Kedward. The evil presence in the woods predated Elly, whether she was up to no good indeed or was simply a scapegoat. You can read this in "The Blair Witch Project: A Dossier" by an author whose name is Stern.

It The Blair Witch Project's stick figures were created by production designer Ben Rock, with the design being based on a symbol from the book Magical Alphabets. The simple design came about from the need to create lots of them in a short period of time for the scene, so they couldn't be too elaborate. It's also revealed in 2016's Blair Witch

Of course the lore and myth of the Blair Witch help "sell" all of the fear in the movie. It is sad and unfair that Heather Donahue was, for some bizarre reason, awarded a Razzie for worst actress. To me, her performance was the best one of the film, she really sold the horror with how she acted.

The Blair Witch Project was my first "real" horror movie. I saw one before it called "Scrawl" which was technically a horror movie but it wasn't really well known and not scary at all. BWP didn't scare me too much, but the ending kept me up a little that night. 5HIRSk.
